How to Write Good Photography Quotes

What makes a good photography quote? This is a question that has been debated by photographers and enthusiasts for years. There are a few things that make a good photography quote in my opinion. First, the quote should be thought provoking or offer a new perspective on photography. Second, the quote should be inspiring and motivate the reader to go out and take more photographs. Lastly, the quote should be memorable and stand out from all of the other quotes out there. With these guidelines in mind, here are 10 of my favorite photography quotes:

“A photograph is worth a thousand words.” -Ansel Adams

“The best camera is the one you have with you.” -Unknown

“Photography is about capturing light.” -Unknown
“The eye sees only what the mind wants to see.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson
“There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.” -Ansel Adams
“”You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”” – Ansel Adams
“” Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”” – Dorothea Lange

“” A picture is worth ten thousand words .”” –Napoleon Bonaparte “” Art

Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst. Henri Cartier-Bresson

Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst. This is a quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson that I think applies to anyone starting out in photography. It takes time and practice to become good at anything and this is especially true for photography. Even the best photographers had to start somewhere and their early work is likely not their best. So don’t get discouraged if your first photos aren’t great, just keep practicing and one day you’ll be taking amazing shots too.

When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs

A quote by Ansel Adams

As someone who loves both words and photography, I often find myself drawn to quotes about photography. And of all the quotes out there, one of my favorites is by Ansel Adams: “When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs.”

I love this quote because it so perfectly encapsulates the power of photography. In a world where words can so often fail us, photos have the ability to speak volumes. They can capture a moment in time and preserve it forever, reminding us of what was once there even when it’s gone.

And for me, that’s what good photography is all about: capturing moments and memories that might otherwise be forgotten. It’s about freezing time in a way that allows us to revisit those moments again and again. That’s why I believe firmly that everyone should take up photography – because who knows when we’ll need those precious memories the most?

When I photograph I make love

This quote by Robert Mapplethorpe is one of the most well-known and celebrated statements about photography. It speaks to the intimate and personal connection that can be created through images. For Mapplethorpe, photography was a way to express his love for the world around him. He saw beauty in everything, and his camera allowed him to capture that beauty and share it with others.

Mapplethorpe’s quote is a reminder that good photography isn’t just about taking technically perfect pictures. It’s also about having a deep connection to your subject matter and being able to convey that connection through your images. When you approach photography with love, you’ll be able to create photos that are truly special and meaningful.

I'm a photography enthusiast with a passion for classic film cameras and writing. I believe that photography is a powerful tool for storytelling and I strive to create images that are evocative and meaningful. I hope you enjoy my work!
